Get ready for Columbia, MO’s first Twitter meet-up. It’s silly we haven’t had one yet. So after stumbling into a worldwide event called Twestival. It seemed like a wonderful push to launch a gathering here in the middle of Missouri. Not only are we going to finally meet face-to-face… We’re going to be able to raise money for charity:water.

The important details:

Who: Twitter users from Columbia, MO or other nearby communities
What: A Twestival! (Tweetup Fundraiser for charity:water)
When: February 12, 6-9 PM
Where: Fay Street Lofts, 505 Fay Street (thanks to @blueroot)
Why: CoMO needed a Tweetup!

Here are the needs for this event… Hopefully we can gather as much as possible:

  • Music - I have an iPod and small speakers - but it would be cool to do more (@justex07 will supply - everyone is welcome to bring their own iPod full of tunes if they’d like)
  • Projector/Projector Screen - So we can all follow tweets live from the event (@jjsteffe has the projector - we still need a screen)
  • Tables - I have one foldable poker table, but obviously we’ll need more for food, drink, auction items
  • Chairs - The loft area has this covered.
  • Food - Probably easy to eat stuff since I can’t gather up enough tables for actually sitting and eating
  • Drink - I could make it BYOB but I should probably try to get drink donations (especially if we go the alcohol route)
  • Cups and Plates (and silverware) - If we have food and drink, we might want to put it somewhere.
  • Auction items - I’m going to work on a silent auction. I’m hoping the auction can be web-based so the donated money can go straight to the organization. The Twestival organizers are working on a solution for that.
  • WiFi - The building for this event has it covered! (thanks again @blueroot)
  • Wii and a Monitor - That would be fun. (We have a Wii donation from @arclite)
I’m going to try to keep information and little thoughts as I try to put this together on the Twitter account created for this event.
